Video: Hong Kong Fabric Shopping

As I mentioned earlier last week, I had a chance to visit the fabric district in Hong Kong last month. Here are some photos and video of the place. The video was edited by Andy, which explains the captions..

I referred to the Traveller’s Yarn‘s blog post as a guide. As suggested in the post, I got off at Sham Shui Po station and looked for Ki Lung street. The Hong Kong fabric district is massive! It’s not even comparable to the Nippori fabric district. I hope to visit the place again in the future….not during a national holiday!

I love seeing your fabric adventures! I like getting the little glimpse into other countries, plus it looks far more interesting than the big box craft stores we have here in the American midwest!

Hi Emily, whenever I get a chance, I try to check out each country’s fabric district. The one I went in Bangkok was pretty good too!

    Hi Chie!
So cool, next time try drop by Taiwan (its so close to HK) Hee hee, the fabric market here is also fun but doesn’t seem half as big as Hong Kong! Love seeing the sewing adventure~

That sounds like a lot of fun!! I’ve only stopped by in Taiwan on the way to Thailand, and never visited the country. My sister is a big fan, and been there more than 5 times. I have to ask you where the fabric district is when I have a chance to go in the future!

Love your fabric adventures! I went to Shum Shui Po before and like you, I got lost while trying to find the fabric street(s). My husband was a little annoyed coz we had been walking a lot while we were at Hong Kong and I had to make him walk more (mostly in circles) while trying to find out where the fabric streets are. =P

Me too! It was so hard to find it until I saw the street with fabric signs on it. It’s huge though, isn’t it? Too bad all the stores were closed..
