Hello, my VV friends. Chie thought it’s time you all get the chance to read some more of my thoughts on little Kiko Duncan. I cannot believe it has already been a year. It is said by every parent but the first year flies by. This is partially the case because for the first 3 months your world is so turned upside down from lack of sleep and learning to take care of newly arrived baby that all time blurs until 3-4 months when you get your first full night of sleep and think to yourself “Hey, it’s September now…and I have a baby….and she is 3 months old…cool!”
As I reflect a little, I must say I feel Chie and I did ok! Kiko managed to survive our initial failures. She didn’t have any terrible reactions to the food that we gave her that we were not suppossed to. Kiko’s many falls did not lead to massive head trauma. She sleeps well…eats well…and is pretty pleasant (depending on the day) to be around. I don’t know what others think of her but I’m quite fond of her! Just kidding, I love this little girl to death.
She has grown so much over the year and I love to watch the changes. Many parents say they wish they could keep the baby forver but I don’t think I share that feeling. As I watch Kiko grow and watch as she develops it seems wrong to wish it to stop. Each growth spurt, each developmentmental milestone she reaches is a wonderful thinng to be a part of and enjoy. I love this time she is 1 year old just like I loved the time when she was first born. To be honest I love her more now than I did and believe I will love her more next year than I do now.
As I look back over the year I find it hard to imagine the time before she was here. I wonder what I used to do with my time…Probably nothing imoprtant or interesting. I love this kid and cant wait to see what happens in this next year. Check back in a year when the “”Terrible Two’s” have started, the tone of my writig may have changed significantly!

so does she fall off the end of the slide??! I wish there was a giggling soundtrack. Also, sleeping through at 3months? Wow! I have four kids ranging from 7 to 7months and i am up a few times every night with a variety of them, i think the last time i slept through the night was about 8years ago!! Maybe that explains why i haven’t come out of the baby haze/fog/mumma brain yet???! Happy birthday little one x

Hi jen, she stopped at the end. I was waiting for her to fall off, but the slide was a bit sticky and she got stuck!

Oh my! My sister and I were drooling over that GIF! Cuteness! And that first picture! Nothing is better than watching a baby/toddler laugh like that! You’re blessed! I hope I will once have that perfect family as well.
By the way, I read that you guys are thinking about adoption. That’s wonderful! You guys are role models!
