Hello! If you follow my instagram (@vivatveritas), you might have come across with my black kimono upcycled items in my feed for the past few months. I’ve been sewing up for yet another fashion show (last year’s here) coming up tomorrow, June 15, 2019 in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, Tokyo.
If you are in Tokyo, join a fusion event incorporating fashion and art. My kimono upcycled dresses will be exhibited in a runway-style fashion show with tie-in spatial design from the mind of David Takahashi. The kimono dresses are one-of-a-kind and have been reimagined for wear in daily life. These antique kimonos have been made with unique colors and textures, which are impossible to find in off the rack fast-fashion.
Tickets can be bought online in advance for ¥1,000 and will also be available for ¥1,200, both including a drink. There will be an afterparty from 6pm – 8pm, costing an additional ¥1,500 and including food. I would love to see you there!

It’s hard to see from the picture, but I placed the crane print on the side bottom of the skirt.
This was fun to sew – We tried to get some pop by adding a train with red color inserts. As a person with a small chest, I love American necklines that cover the bony chest area. I’m not going to be wearing this dress, but it’s fun to imagine 🙂
