Made:: Red Splatter Top

I didn’t pledge this time (I participated last year in MMM12), just because I couldn’t commit to taking pictures of my outfit on a regular bases, but I am doing pretty well recently in terms of wearing what I made! This top is the latest addition to my closet, and I pull this out at least once a week. The print is very unique, and the simple pullover shape makes it easy to match with anything. I made this with a scrap from the skirts I made for ANTHOM. This top will not be in the shop but the skirts will be in two different colors (blue and red) in size S, M, and L soon.

The top was very easy to make; no button or zipper closure, just an oversized t-shirt finished with bias strips. By the way, I love these Uniqlo jeggings. If you cover the elastic waist part, they really look like, or at least I hope, regular jeans while they are as comfortable as leggings. My sister gave me two pairs recently and they have gotten a fair amount of wear.

Bow and Organza Sash

Recently, I had the honor to work on a casual wedding dress for a bride who is also pregnant. At the time of her wedding, she will be 20 weeks pregnant. The dress she chose had no stretch, so we decided to make the waist 2″ wider than her actual waist and add a sash to tie around the waist in case the dress is too big on her. It is hard to guess how much your belly grows when you are pregnant. I remember my belly, got visibly bigger after eating big meals, as opposed to when I first woke up in the morning. The bride and I worked on the bow design together and here is what we came up with. I really enjoy working with customers to make custom pieces since it allows me to explore designs that I don’t think of on my own.

Handmade Dog Clothes

Hello! My name is Rina. This is my first time to post a on Vivat Veritas. I love sewing, and am going to help Vivat Veritas as a seamstress. I’m so happy to be able to participate with Chie and share ideas on the blog! Thank you so much for giving me the chance, Chie.

As my first entry, let me tell you that I have a dog, a Yorkshire terrier. He got a trim last week, he looks great… but looks cold sometimes. You can find dog clothes at pet shops, on the Internet anywhere really, but most of them are too decorative and expensive. So I decided to make his clothes. Simple, cute, cheap!

20130512_0120130512_02 I cut out my well-worn cotton T-shirt. Please choose stretch fabric. Sew * to *. 20130512_03Cut fabric scrap as bias, and join them to make bias tape. 20130512_04Then, attach the bias tape around the cut fabric. こんにちは、りなです。これからVivat Veritas の縫製のお手伝いをさせて頂くことになり、ブログにも参加させて頂くことになりました（知恵さん、ありがとうございます！）。Vivat Veritasのサイトの大部分は英語ですが、英語が分からない方にももっと見て欲しいという気持ちを込めて、日本語でもブログを書きたいと思います。 最近はよくいろんなお店で犬用の服を見かけますが過剰にフリルのついたものや高価な物が多いですよね。カットしすぎて寒がっていた愛犬（ヨークシャテリア）の為に洋服を作ってみました。着古したコットンのTシャツと生地の端切れがあれば簡単に作れるので是非試してみて下さい！

コットン生地（伸縮性のあるもの）を型紙通りに裁断し、＊と＊を縫い合わせます（Photo2）。
生地の端切れをバイアスのカットしつなぎ合わせバイアステープを作ります（Photo3）。
作ったバイアステープでコットン生地を囲みます（Photo4）。
最後に前中心にマジックテープを付けてできあがり！ もし分かりにくいところや質問があれば気軽にコメントを残して下さいね。
