Video// DIY White Clay Deer Head Decor

dear head DIY tumbnailA few weeks ago, I posted the DIY clay deer head pin that I found on Pinterest (here is the original DIY). I finally got around making it last week! I had this one spot on the wall in my sewing room that needed a little spice-up and now I am happy that the place has been filled up with this cute deer head. dear headdear head2

All I needed was two packages of white clay and twigs painted gold. You don’t have to paint the twigs gold, but I already had them painted as a part of decoration DIY I had done previously, so I just used those  to make the process easier. Kiko really enjoyed playing with the clay and she calls the finished deer “Bambi”. Since she is three, she could not really help me with the deer itself, but I gave her the extra clay I had and she made a bunch of snakes. I’m not sure what it is with her and snakes, but she has this thing with snakes. I hope she won’t ask me to buy snake as a pet. what you need for making clay deer headcutting clay wrap

白のクラフト用粘土を使って、お部屋のデコレーション用の鹿の頭？を作ってみました。
海外のインテリアの写真で、白い石膏のアニマルヘッドらしきものをよく見かけて、いいなーと思っていたところ粘土で作れることを発見して、やってみました。

角は、道端で拾った木の枝をゴールドにスプレーペイント。

空いていた壁の一角に立体感が出ました。

Vivat Veritas Bridal Lookbook 2014 Boho Wedding Custom Dress

It’s funny how opportunities can roll in while sitting on a couch, relaxing and scrolling down the instagram feed. I found Lisa’s feed from someone else’s and could not stop favoriting her photos. She is an amazing photographer! Especially this one and this one. Her photos have their own uniquness to them; and you are left with a dreamy fairy tale feel like after looking at her photos. It also happened that we have worked with some people in the past. Tokyo English speaking fashion/photography world is such a small world!

Anyway, we met up one day in June to shoot with a model Maria at Hibiya park. I had never been to Hibiya park prior to this, but it is a must-visit place. It is much more calm than the famous Yoyogi park. Lots of flowers and quiet paths. Unfortunately, right when we tried to shoot, it started to pour, but we went on to shoot anyway. I made the title of the lookook, “mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux”. It means “Rainy wedding, happy marriage” in French.

“mariage pluvieux, mariage heureux”とはフランス語で、「雨の日の結婚式は幸せをよぶ」という意味があるそうです。
雨の日の結婚式はネガティブなイメージがありますが、こんな素敵な言い伝えがあるなんて、素敵です★

Pink Floral // My Take on TWO + PIECE SET+ACULAR

two piece set acular 630Have you seen Sophie of Ada Spragg‘s post on TWO + PIECE SET+ ACULAR? It’s awesome. I knew two piece set or co-ords was a trend, but her post really motivated me to make myself one! A set is great because of it’s versatility. You can wear them as is to make them look kind of like a dress, or wear only bottom or top. I’m really enjoying my new pink floral set.

as set2two set acular skirt vivat veritasInstead of sewing the whole thing, I used an already-owned dress from forever 21 and refashioned them into two piece set.
You can see this post for how I made the dress into a cropped top.
For the skirt, I added a new invisible zipper in the center back, and added the organza insert at hem to lengthen the skirt. The dress was super short which kept me from wearing it in the original form. Now the skirt is right above the knee, it is much more appropriate for my age (30!) and wearable.

I made a quick video(about 1 min) showing how I wear them.
The video is showing three ways to wear them:
1. Wear as set
2. Wear with white T-shirt (T is from T by Alexander Wang)
3. Wear with a high waisted shorts (Shorts are from thrift shop. They were long trousers but I cut them short).

I made another set out of a dress, and that is a non-cropped top version! It’s made with black lace and it is another one of the sets that is going to play a major roll in my Summer wardrobe. Will be posting about them soon!

ツーピースのセット、去年ぐらいから流行ってますよね。
私は最初はセットなんて、おばあちゃんみたいって思ってたんですが、やっぱり流行るとなんか試してみたくなっちゃうたちで。。。
オーストラリアのソーイングブロガー、Ada Spraggのこのブログを見て、やっぱ作ろうと思いました！

一から作らず、前から持っていて着る機会のなかったforever21のドレスを、リメークしてセットを作りました。
上のビデオでは、ツーピースの着回しについて撮影してみました。
