A couple of Saturday’s ago, I took Kiko to a nearby library. They were doing a puppet show for kids. I brought her assuming she would enjoy herself, which she did. Serendipitously, it happened that on the same day the library was also having a book flea market. They were selling used books for 10 yen a piece! That’s 10 cents. I got even more excited when I saw these old sewing books from 80’s and fashion school text books used by Bunka Fashion College. I got seven books in total for 70 yen. 🙂

Planning for Fall Sewing
Although it’s still hot during the day here in Japan, I started to feel fall in the air. The air is crisp in the morning and at night. I began planning for the fall/winter sewing. As a starter, I sketched new designs. I don’t always sketch when I start on new designs, but I am trying to be better at it..
And as soon as I sketch, my hands start to get itchy and I have to jump on my sewing machine to turn the sketch into a real clothes.

Shop Update: Kimono Cardigan
Kimono cardigan (also via Etsy)
The shop has been updated with a final summer piece – Kimono cardigan. It is a good transition piece from summer to fall. This is the last of the three Summer piece series (First one here, and second one here) I worked on with Jessica of Hapatime. She really did a fantastic job on styling and modeling the pieces, and I’m so happy with the photos! You can check out Jessica’s post here.
