I love this lookbook by this Japanese brand, Mercury Duo. It has a great mixture of edginess, simplicity and elegance..I particularly like the use of sequins. The brand is produced by Yuka Watanabe, and she was 25 when she started the brand. I’m impressed!

With the fall season now officially underway, fall fashion trends are beginning to become clear. Of course, there are certain characteristics of fall fashion that don’t tend to change too much year-to-year. For example, it is common for sweaters and light jackets to become more popular in the months of October and November, simply because the weather tends to cool to some extent in most of the world. Additionally – to match the cooling weather and shortening, darker days – we tend to see more of the darker colors (greys, blacks and browns) during the fall. However, there are also some fall trends that come and go in different years.
This fall, for example, light blouses and flowing materials (such as silk) seem to be in style. This makes plenty of sense, as a long-sleeved but lighter material is ideal for weather that is turning cool but is not quite cold. So, with this in mind, you might want to avoid tighter or bulkier clothing this fall. Additionally, there are a few different collections that are offering a number of pink clothing options this fall, so as to infuse a bit of color into fall style this year.
A good example of a fashion designer carrying clothing that fits the above listed trends is the DKNY collection for women, which can be found on my-wardrobe.com. This collection features a number of different types of clothing, from pants and leggings to blouses and jackets, and coincides quite well with most of the fall fashion trends you have probably been observing in the last month. For example, DKNY is offering a number of “flowing,” silky blouses in white, grey and black, all of which should be quite tasteful for the coming season. Additionally, DKNY seems to be on board with the idea of adding a bit more color to its fall collection, as it is currently featuring a few separate pink, red and blue options that are all bright, but not overstated.
Of course, it may be that you have already decided on your fall fashion for this year. However, if you are still working on figuring out what you will be wearing in the coming months, the trends and styles listed above should help to give you some indication of what fashion-conscious women will be wearing this year. Specifically, the DKNY collection can be a great place to start for women who have not yet filled out their autumn wardrobes. With a number of options that are both trendy and unique, this collection would seem to have just about anything that you could want this time of year.

Alice in Wonderland Dress
I can’t believe it’s Monday again! The weekend always passes by way too quickly. I’m already looking forward to Friday 🙁
Today I want to show you all the dress I made for myself to wear to my friend’s wedding last week. Yes, another wedding! I seem to get invited to many weddings these days..
Again, I used Burda 5/2011 Bustier Dress with Draped Detail which came with Craftsy’s course on Bombshell Dress (by Gertie). I LOVE the result this time. Last time I tried this pattern, I ended up looking like I was wearing a bridesmaid dress, but this one was much better! I added black piping along the bust line, waist line and upper bust line all the way to the back. It took more time, but the black accenting to the powder blue dress made for a nice effect. The dress is fully underlined, lined for upper body, and boned. I used the half circle skirt pattern I drafted myself and finish the hem with horse hair braid. I could have gone without straps, but I added the straps for fear of looking too “bare” at the wedding.
Looking at these photos, this dress kind of reminds me of Alice in Wonderland? I would totally wear this dress again…maybe I’ll throw it on for the Tokyo Fashion Week event that I’m attending this week 🙂

Congrats to my dear friend Natsuko…
