Spring 2013 Lookbook Shoot Behind the Scenes 2

spring 2013 lookbook ryocoMore photos to share with you from the behind the scenes of Spring 2013 lookbook shoot! (Part 1 here) The place is called the “Green House” in Sagamihara city, Kanagawa prefecture. The location hunt for the shoot might be one of the most fun parts of creating a lookbook. Andy actually found this place and recommended that we use it. It is in the middle of nowhere, so the place is never really crowded, which is great for a photoshoot. I love the tropical feel that it gives, since Summer is my favorite season. I also thought the fake waterfall in the garden was fun!

Just a quick announcement about the shop; my shop is now mobile compatible! If you access from your phone or tablet, it automatically changes to mobile-theme. I think it looks much more user-friendly! What do you think?

Spring 2013 Lookbook Shoot Behind the Scenes

vivat veritas spring 2013 clothesToday turned out to be a really beautiful day with warm Spring weather, around 20 degrees Celsius  We did a Spring 2013 lookbook shoot at a green garden in Kanagawa prefecture today. We could not have asked for better weather.

This lookbook was, unfortunately, prepared in rush, since I was gone for the past two weeks to NY. Once I got back last week, I worked hard at night to get stuff done for the shoot, from sewing sample pieces for the shoot, planning a makeup and styling options and coordinating with other team members. I was a bit nervous how it would turn out, but everyone was sweet and things went smoothly. Here is some sneak peak of what was in behind the scenes of the photoshoot.

Mommy’s Diary: Learning to Talk

Kiko has been really picking up language, it is so much fun to watch! While we were in the U.S. for two weeks in February, she learned so many new words, like “snack”, “all done”, “donut” (you can tell what the grandparents had been giving her on my absence) or “elephant”. Andy and I both speak to her in English at home, but still I was amazed how much she picked up within a few days we were there. It made me think maybe I wasn’t talking to her enough at home. She received a constant shower of language from her grandparents, and other extended family, and I saw the effect of that first hand!

Sometimes it is a challenge to figure out what she is talking about. For instance, she kept saying “bider” but I had no idea what she meant, until I figured out that she meant to say “spider”, and wanted to do itsy bitsy spider together. 20130304kiko220130304kiko3DSC_0128 copy

Also, she pronounces the “si” sounds like a Japanese person, and here is a little video clip of what she ended up with. She is trying to say “sit”; I think she learnt it from me asking her to sit down everyday. Hope you have a chuckle out of it:)
